Almost Wordless Wednesday!

Handwriting notes, cards, and letters is always so enjoyable!

Delicious Sunday Morning Breakfast!

Cinnamon Roll Muffins
Sunday morning I made these cinnamon roll muffins for breakfast. It was such a delightful experience to be up before everyone else, and baking in a still quiet house! As a baked I even watched a moose eating outside our back window...it was all a lovely 'good-morning!'.
While our oven has been down (now for quite some time) we have needed to be creative in our baking abilities, we are limited to 9x13in pan and muffin tin pan, which sounds easy enough but really not many recipes work in the roaster oven which we use (not the same amount of heat as an oven). Finding a recipe like this is sure excting and I was desperatly hoping that they would turn out...boy, were my hopes met!
These were so good...and easy to make :) I will definitely be keeping this recipe!

This is a delicious recipe and one you should have on hand in your kitchen! To find the recipe go to here...Fearless Homemaker

Enjoy and I hope to be back later this week with another recipe!

A surprise birthday Party!

My Mom had been mentioning how she wanted a birthday party this year, so we decided to throw a surprise one for her! And we did it!! If you know my Mother you understand my enthusiasm! My Mom is one of those people that is very hard to keep a secret from...she always finds something out :) But not this time, we had nearly a house full of people hidden when she and Dad walked in from their day in Anchorage, she was greeted with a loud "Happy Birthday" which was replied to with a scream of delight!!
It was a lot of fun to put this together for her, and I thought I'd share some of the pictures with you all...

{Setting up...the dinning room table was such a mess there for a while!}
{These silly balloon bouquets that caused some laughter and lots of fingers ;)}
{Still setting up and preparing the food, but this is the only real good picture of those scalloped streamer!}

{Happy birthday!}

{The drink table!}

{The dessert counter...favors, ice cream, cake, punch and mints!! And for this counter I cut several 6x6 in. pieces of paper and used as a runner, and Hopey came behind me and sprinkled the whole thing with green sugar sprinkle which made it all look so festive!}

{A bowl of small thank you favor pouches! I made these and filled them with a few chocolate covered pretzels each! I don't have a tutorial, but may be making another on for that purpose!}

{A delicious cake made by my sister Heather (thanks Heather!) and the punch bowl/glasses and mints!}

{I wrapped re-fried bean cans with wrapping paper and a strip of paper and stuck a pretty sticker on the front...these we used for our silverware! Note: I did tape all the way around the top ledge to avoid anyone getting cut, just a suggestion!}

Dad and I sneaked off to town a few times the last few weeks while Mom was at the shop, and bought supplies, groceries ect. Hosanna and I had fun shopping for the groceries!! We served a taco bar with cornbread muffins, chips and cheese dip, fruit, and of course our delicious dessert counter! I didn't get a picture of the table all set up unfortunately but it all went together wonderfully and sure was good!!

We had a wonderful night visiting and playing apples to apples...we never did finish before everyone had to leave, it lasts a while with that big of a group playing! We had so much fun and had people at our home till 12:30 that night!
Happy Birthday Mom :)

Next time I'll share with you what I made Mom for her present!

Delightful Surroundings!

A delightful surrounding...pleasurable, peaceable, quiet, and mild.

That would be my definition of my delightful surroundings today! I am sitting at the shop, it's quiet here today and the sun is coming through the windows lighting everything up and warming my back. It is deceitfully making me think of Spring time, causing me to forget that lovely large snowflakes were covering my scarf and coat this morning! I dare not look out side though the sun is calling me to, but what greets my eyes will be a pile of snow, snow on the tree, and very small flakes falling from the sky.
Still, it is beautiful and I would rather have snow right now then a number of other weather conditions!

I enjoyed a lovely blueberry muffin and vanilla bean yogurt, while scrolling through Pinterest! {It doesn't get much better then that!}. I was also able to capture a few more Thoughts for Tea Time pictures for future use, which always gives me great pleasure!
I am also enjoying looking through blogs and listening to instrumental music! Plus finding a recipe that looks to be delicious which I am hoping to try very soon :)

My surroundings currently= complete delight!
And I am enjoying every bit of it before I start dusting and sweeping and all the fun stuff I actually get payed to do :)

Have a delightful afternoon my friends!

Actions that speak louder then words!

Have you ever stopped to think how serious the actions of our lives can be? Not in the things we say, but in the things we do?
Imagine with me for a moment what it would be like to not be able to hear each other, what if God had created us all without voices? What would it be like if we had no way to communicate with our months?
My sisters are learning sign language right now and it got me thinking of what it would be like if God had just created us all deaf.
Now, I know our voices are very useful, not only within our need to communicate to each other but with the way we are able to use our voices for the glory of God...which I'm sure is why we were created with them at all.
But think with me for a moment what it would be like to live in a place where we couldn't communicate with our voices, where communication was fully dependent on our actions. The only way we could show love, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude or worship was with our actions! If God could not hear us but only see our actions...if those around us could only know us by our actions, it wouldn't be in how we talk, how spiritual we sound or how wise but rather in what we do.
As we go about our daily routines, how is our witness for Christ? What do people know of us? How do people view us?

Let us try today to live and show the life of Christ with only our actions speaking through us...without our voices! How much of Christ would be seen through us to the world??

Just something I thought I'd leave with you to think on!

A wonderul new Recipe

Well I had posts planned for this week but so far none of them have come into being so I will just post this delightful new recipe we just discovered this afternoon!

Blueberry Coffee Cake

Recipe:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1tsp vanilla
1tsp almond flavoring
3/4 cup milk
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups blueberries
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp lemon rind (optional)
1/2 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter

Cream sugar, shortening, egg and flavorings. Add milk, flour, baking powder and salt. Stir only till mixed. Spread 1/2 batter into 9"x9" pan (I used a 8"x8" pan and it didn't seem to make a difference). Sprinkle blueberries, fresh or frozen, 2 tbsp sugar and lemon rind on top and spread rest of batter over. Sprinkle with topping made of 1/2 cup flour, 1 cup brown sugar and 1/4 butter.
Bake at 350*F for 30-40 minutes.

And enjoy!
