French Puffs

There are many different recipes for these delicious French puff muffins! When I made these ones I just used a recipe from the web and don't recall where it was from, but like I said you can find a recipe quite easily!
They make the most delicious snack or quick breakfast and taste SO wonderful!! I highly recommend finding a recipe, putting on your apron and heading to the kitchen for these!!

APHEA convention 2013

This past weekend was the annual APHEA homeschool convention for independent homeschoolers in the state! It's always so fun to go and see people, to meet people and to hear great speakers, which this year was Doug Philips of vision forum! It was so great and inspiring to hear him in person, he was an amazing speaker!
Anyhow, we had another great weekend this year!

Plus Harmony is home from Juneau and will be house-sitting for a month before she goes back to DC to close-up her apartment and life down there and comes back up here for the Summer and possibly beyond!

Closet Clearing

I have been feeling the Spring-cleaning bug now for quite some time and last week or so I did a little bit of clearing in my closet!

I wear a lot of sweaters and turtle necks, as well as a lot of black which sounds kind of strange but I just find it a calm color and one that goes with nearly everything. However, none of those are particularly good summer-time clothing choices, so I decided to start working on that! I do usually tend to be more cold then warm but some of those hot days I know we're going to get this Summer might catch me off guard if I don't have anything cool to wear! So my first step was to clear out all my winter clothes (mostly just heavy sweaters), my Fall clothes and things to get rid of! Turns out I had more in my closet then I thought!
I ended with quite the line of empty hangers and a large bag of items to YardSale this spring!
I have a few more items to add for summer which you'll get to see tomorrow! Until then, happy Spring cleaning :)

Spring Tea

We had a lovely lunch at the CPC Spring tea last Saturday, Hope and I served our guests a large salad with a few toppings, dinner rolls and pound cake with strawberries for dessert! It's called making a lovely (+filling) lunch on a budget ;)

It was so much fun to work with Hope and plan what to serve, how to present our table, and of course, doing the shopping which is always fun!

The dishes also helped save us some money and time, they are from a huge collection I have in my hope-chest! We dug out 8 of each piece and washed them up, I enjoyed being able to share them with everyone!
Here are some of us...
left to right: Megan (a good friend), Helayna, Hope and Myself...looking funky in the hat I know!

Needless to say, as you could probably gather from my blog is that I LOVE tea and all that goes along with it, and this Spring tea fit right in the mix of it all!!

I'm off to a have a hopefully lovely day at a Spring Tea with my Mom, two sisters, and friends! My sister, Hope and I are hosting a table at the tea so I will have lots of pictures of our dishes, menu and decor choices on Wednesday :) Come back to see!
And tomorrow will be a wonderful Sunday starting with Morning Church service and then lunch at our house with a family from Church!
What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever they are, I hope you have a wonderful and safe time :)

My Apologies....

I'm not sure which to apologize about first...should it be the fact that I did count my eggs before they hatched and it has now snowed a few feet and weather conditions have been difficult...or should I first apologies about the slow week my blog has had, including missing my thoughts for tea time post!
Well, I do feel like I have a little bit of an excuse on that one...I had to work unexpectedly on Monday as one of the other ladies had a sick child, on Tuesday I wasn't feeling quite up to code myself and did a little work around the house is all, yesterday I was in town all day with my family, we had dentist appointments and one of my sisters and I had some shopping to do for a Spring Tea thats coming up on Saturday! I can't wait to share that with you all :)
So, with having those set backs I am very pleased to say that I've already published my tftt post today and can move forward to more posts!
I mentioned the bad weather condition above and heres a few pictures to prove...
We were driving home from Anchorage last Saturday and this is what we came upon right after exiting the Eagle River exit onto the highway! Traffic was back up for a long ways, we figured it was due to the snow but couldn't see anything! Once we did meet up to where the problem was this is what we found...
Cars in the ditch on all sides of the road. Police and people everywhere. It thankfully didn't look like anyone was too hurt so that was a blessing! This is a view from the back window (which only shows a few vehicles), heres the view from the front...
Vehicles all over in the snow...can't quite see in the picture but there was vehicles in the ditch off that exit, vehicles from both directions in the middle ditch and vehicles on either side of the highway. And these pictures weren't even at the worst point! So, needless to say we are very thankful we made it safely home that night!

This is my little treasure from the few shopping stops we made on Saturday...
It's a beautiful tablet and small clipboard! I love the size of the clipboard because I can pop it in my purse and stay even a little better organized, which is always a bonus for me!

I'm going to wrap this up because I have new post ideas running through my head and I want to get some of them going! I will be back with pictures of our wonderful Easter Sunday!
Have a blessed day <3

Warm blankets, Ice-Cream and my Bible

A lovely, quiet evening! I was able to get to bed a little earlier then usual one evening last week and enjoyed a little ice cream and my Bible-reading before closing my eyes for the night! I am going back through the book of Mathew, I always enjoy going through the Gospel books. Where are you reading right now?

Thought for Tea Time

Today's thought:

He held the world between His thumb and finger like a grape. And when the spike was driven through His hand, His muscles flinched with world-creating force and crimson wine dripped from His fingertips but with omnipotent resolve He neither dropped nor crushed His grape.
